Dr Peter Cameron
Dentist
Peter was born in Newcastle and went to The Junction Primary School and Newcastle High School. Following in his father’s footsteps he entered Sydney University Faculty of Dentistry. Graduating in 1984, he moved back home to Newcastle and has been working in Charlestown in the practice his father started in 1960 ever since.
Peter has been a member of The Newcastle Dental Study Group since 1985 and regularly attends continuing education to keep up to date with current trends in the delivery of quality dental care.
Peter has two children. Abbey is at Uni and Georgia is in year 12. He maintains a keen interest in fishing and keeps active by walking and swimming. Time spent with his daughters and support of their netball efforts has brought great joy and a precipitous decline in golfing ability. The family unit is completed by a Jack Russel Terrier, Trevor.

Dr Emily Cheng
Dentist
Emily emigrated from Vietnam with her family to Australia when she was nine-years-old. She grew up in a large family of six sisters and one brother and spent her formative years in inner west Sydney.
Emily graduated from the Dental faculty at Sydney University in 2000. She has lived and worked in private practice in Newcastle since then. She joined Peter Cameron at his practice in 2004.
Emily enjoys all facets of dentistry with a particular interest in preventive dentistry. Emily takes great pride in her work and looks forward to building a long term relationship with all her patients.
Emily is a member of the Australian Dental Association and has a commitment to further dental education and study.
Emily has two young children Katherine and Mitchell whom she adores and a husband Richard whom she tolerates. Emily spends most of her spare time looking after her children and maintaining her garden which she has spent many hours establishing.

Dr Cath O'Sullivan
Dentist
Cath completed her Bachelor degree in Dentistry at the University of Queensland in 1997 and went on to work in private practice in the small town of Jimboomba just outside Brisbane. Cath continued her Dental career in the public sector, working at the Redcliffe Dental Hospital. Here she gained valuable experience in the school dental system working in Dental Vans and overseeing Dental Therapists in the school based dental clinics.
In 2000, Cath moved to Canberra and worked as a civilian dentist at the Royal Military College, Duntroon. In 2003, Cath moved back to Brisbane with her family and worked for the Airforce at the Amberley RAAF Base near Ipswich before the birth of her first child.
Following a period of maternity leave, Cath and her family moved to Newcastle and fell in love with the friendly people and beautiful coastline.
Cath has worked at Charlestown Dental Care since 2007. Since having her own family, Cath has furthered her interest in providing dental care for the whole family unit.

Tia Schaaf
Dental Hygienist
Tia is our delightful dental hygienist and her goal is to help you gain control of your dental health. She has worked in the dental industry for 10 years, starting a dental nurse while completing the Bachelor of Oral Health at the University of Newcastle. She graduated in 2011 and has worked full time in general dentistry and orthodontics since. She has a strong focus on patient education and prevention of dental disease such as decay and periodontal disease and her speciality is dealing with dental phobic patients and those with very sensitive teeth. Her mantra is to make dentistry a more user friendly industry for people of all ages and walks of life. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, cooking and doing martial arts.

Sally
Practice Manager
Sally has over 35 years’ experience in the Dental industry. She has worked with Dr Cameron at Charlestown Dental Care for over 20 years.
Sally has worked as a dental assistant and receptionist and takes great pride in making sure the practice runs efficiently with patient care the main priority.
She is a committed member of the team who prides herself in building relationships with patients.
In her spare time sally enjoys reading and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Michele
Receptionist
Michele has been working at Charlestown Dental Care for over 15 years and has more than 30 years’ experience in Dental Care in the Newcastle region.
Her vast experience as a dental nurse and more recently as the practice receptionist provides patients with a reassuring, warm and caring attitude when dealing with their dental care.
Michele takes great pride in making sure a patients experience Charlestown Dental Care runs smoothly and efficiently with patient care being the utmost importance.
In her spare time, Michele enjoys cooking and reading and spending time with her family.

Abbie
Senior Dental Assistant
Abbie has been with the Charlestown dental care team now for over 10 years. Abbie's outgoing and sympathetic nature makes our patients at ease, overall creating a pleasant dental experience.
